Dorset Gliding Club would like to wish all our friends and associates a very happy and prosperous New Year for 2010.

The club's hangar, being made of fabric, has been in a sorry state for some time ( the story of the hangar can be read here ). In a recent storm another large tear appeared which, like on the many other occassions, had to be patched. The hangar has served us well beyond its expected lifetime but with so many tears, leaks and patches it is really now at the end of its life. This posed the club a problem, a new cover for the hangar is a major expense for a small club such as ours and so, with cap in hand, the club approached Sport England for some funding and, the club is pleased to announce that it met the required criteria and has received a grant towards meeting the cost of the new fabric and hangar refurbishment. The club would sincerely like to thank Sport England, the Sport England logo and link will appear on the club's website from now on.
